I don't think I have ever done this before, but I am going to do it now.
Here it is (drumroll) Livlife's first ever: Quote of the day--hell, let's make it the Quote of the Week. We can do that, can't we? Well, I can. I'm in charge here.
Okay, so I was scanning the headlines on Yahoo! and I saw a story about voting for baseball's Hall of Fame inductees. Apparently, Rickey Henderson, who was really good, was nominated and got in, I guess. I really only skimmed the story, it seemed weird and out of context, like I had missed part one or something. Anyway, there is a guy who is on the voting panel or whatever, named Corky Simpson (which alone could get him into my blog. Corky. Simpson. Awesome), who did not vote for Henderson. Fine by me. Evidently, people were outraged by this. I don't even know how they found out (really the article wasn't that informative) but they did and there was this supposed Internet outcry over the imagined (or not) slight.
In an interview, Corky Simpson was asked what he thought of the "internet outrage". Here's what he said:
"I think of the literature on the Internet in the same way that I think of the literature on the walls of public bathrooms ... With the exception that the literature on the walls of public bathrooms is a little higher class."
I laughed out loud. Great quote. Especially if you read most of the crap found in any comments section.....get a life people! (Present company excluded, of course).
So here's to 70-year-old Corky Simpson and his kick-ass Quote of the Week!
