Welcome to Livlife. Where I am living my life out loud, for all to read.

I just saw an interesting article on Yahoo! Evidently, for over 130 years, the world has believed that Thomas Edison made the first recording of sound. He recited "Mary Had A Little Lamb" and recorded himself. Now, scientists have discovered that he was quite possibly not the first. They have found some recordings done by a scientist in France up to 20 years prior to Edison. The article goes on to explain how the process worked and that the oldest ones they found had no sound to them, but they did find one of a woman singing "Au Clair de Lune" dated from 1860. That was 17 years before Edison's recording. You can read the full article here.

I am not certain why I found this so interesting, probably because it seems like "amazing discoveries" are kind of over with. In this day and age, it seems like we've found everything important and anything new is invented, not discovered. Guess I was wrong, there are still treasures awaiting all you intrepid explorers, if you'll just go and search for them. And if you find one, Yahoo! will put you on their home page and, even better, you might even make my blog. Yippee!
