If you've been reading my blog with any regularity, you'll recall my recent love-lists of my top 25 sexiest Men of Hollywood and Sports Stars. One of my regular readers (yes Kelly, I am talking about you) has been bugging me to put forth my list of the 25 Sexiest Musicians.
Well, I decided I really don't want to do that.
Just Kidding, Kelly. Here is your early Christmas present. And for the rest of you to enjoy as well.
Honorable Mention #3. New Kids on the Block. I loved them as a teen and since the reunion I find that I love them still. I didn't want to include them individually (well, not ALL of them, but I had to put them in somewhere).
(L-R: Jordan Knight, Danny Wood, Joe McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Jon Knight).
Honorable Mention #2. Dave Matthews. Lead singer of the Dave Matthews Band. He's pretty hot, but for me it is mostly his voice. So he didn't make the cut, but for the sake of my friendship with Elena, I give him an HM.
Honorable Mention #1. Michael Hutchence. Former lead singer of INXS. Only didn't make the list because he's dead and no longer making music. But still....he was hot.
And we're off!
25. Gavin Rossdale. Former lead singer of Bush, currently a solo artist. (God, check out his new single "Love Remains the Same").
24. Pat Monahan. Lead singer of Train. His band is fading into oblivion, but he's still hot.
23. Rob Thomas. Former lead singer of Matchbox 20, then successful solo artist, now I think he's back with the band. Whatever. I've liked him for years.
22. John Ondrasik. Frontman for Five for Fighting. I love his band, cool music, but mostly he grabs me with his unusual voice.
21. Brad Paisley. Country artist. He made being a nice guy super hot. It works for him.
20. Nikki Sixx. Bassist for Motley Crue. Contrary to popular belief, they're still around, doing their thing. And even though no one told him the 80s are over, Nikki Sixx is still the quintessential rocker-hot.
19. Lenny Kravitz. If you said "who?" then stop reading immediately. Everyone knows him, he defies genres and regardless if he's rocking the grunge look or the "it's sick how much money I have" look, he still looks good. Always.
18. Keith Urban. Country rocker. Married to Nicole Kidman. From Austrailia. Gorgeous.
17. Ricky Martin. Solo artist. Gotta tell ya, I thought he was pretty when he was younger...now, well, Wow. He's really getting so much sexier as he ages.
16. Chris Botti. Trumpeter. He's not very mainstream, but if you've seen this guy play a trumpet, you'll understand why jazz used to be the hottest thing around.
15. Mark McGrath. Frontman for SugarRay. If he'd go back to making music now that he's gone from Extra!, I'd be one happy girl. The music isn't the greatest, but I sure do love his tight pants.
14. Josh Turner. Country artist. You'd never think it by looking at him, but this guy has one of the sexiest voices I've EVER heard. Makes me shiver.
13. Chris Cagle. Country artist. Honestly, the cowboy hat thing gets a little annoying, but when you look this good--who cares?
12. Nick Lachey. Former member of 98Degrees. Current solo artist. All I have to say is, Jessica Simpson is an idiot. She traded in Nick for Tony Romo?
11. Mark and Donnie Wahlberg. I am cheating a bit here, but, hey, it's my list. Mark is the former frontman of the rap group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, while Donnie is a member of the recently reunited band New Kids on the Block. I like them both as actors and still like Donnie in NKOTB but Mark isn't technically a musician anymore. But I wanted them both so I put them both in. Deal with it. (Oh, and I chose that particular picture of Donnie so Kelly could get another glimspe of Jordan.....)
Mark....back when he was a musician (I mean, COME ON!)
Donnie...during his current tour with the New Kids.
(Jordan Knight is back left and Danny Wood is back right)
--Welcome to the Top 10--
10. George Strait. Country legend. Yes, I am aware that he's a hundred years old. (Really, he's 56). He is immensely talented and truly legendary in status. Now, he's so amazing that anything he sings goes #1, just because his name is attached to it. And did I mention that he's incredibly sexy?
9. Elvis Presley. Duh--who doesn't know who he is? Okay, I know that he's dead (supposedly) and that's the reason I kicked out Michael Hutchence, but this is Elvis. He defined sex appeal for musicians and for that alone he makes the list.
8. Sting. Former frontman for the Police. Current solo artist. Probably better known as a solo artist these days, than from his days with the Police. Which is impressive in itself. He might be aging but he's doing it better than most.
7. Enrique Iglesias. Latin pop star. Son of the legendary Julio Iglesias. Ridiculously friggin gorgeous.
6. Michael Buble. Solo artist. Not necessarily the hottest guy on the list, but if you've ever heard him sing, you get it. I swear, he could sing me the dictionary and I'd swoon.
5. Bono. Frontman for U2. Humanitarian. Irish. Dear-Lord-in-Heaven kind of HOT. Rarely without his shades and somehow that only adds to his mystique and appeal.
4. Christian Kane. Lead singer of Kane. Actor. Mmm, mmm, mmm! Love him! Though acting lets me see that absurdly handsome face of his, I still tend to prefer him as a singer. (And because, once again, it is my list!) Also putting Steve Carlson (member of Kane, solo artist) on this list. He'll be tied for #4 with CK. Love him and he's a super nice guy who is an AMAZING talent. (And YES, that is me WITH Steve Carlson in that picture)
3.Tim McGraw. Country Superstar. Married to Faith Hill. Sexy, sexy, sexy. Once Faith convinced him to ditch the mullet, it's been nothing but upswing for him. I've loved him since the way early 90s and I will continue to love him as long as he keeps doing his thing.
2.Dierks Bentley. Country Artist. Love every song he puts out and love him. His voice, his look, his sound, his crazy hair (before and after he cut it)....absolutely everything.(He got promoted after I met him in concert....)
1. Jon Bon Jovi. Frontman for Bon Jovi. Duh. I have been a Bon Jovi fan since the late 80s and my devotion hasn't dimmed one bit. I don't care that not everyone thinks they're cool. I love them and especially him. He was sexy when he was screaming and rocking in their hair band days, and he's sexier still with somewhat tamed hair and crooning his music. But he can still rock---and is only getting better with age.
Well, there you have it. My top 25 (sort of) musicians. I know I cheated a few times, but this was hard. Why the heck to you think it took me so long?
As with both the previous lists, I must leave you with an extra special treat....
Yep, it's yet ANOTHER picture of Tom Brady. But since he ended both the previous lists, I just couldn't help myself. And hey, if he ever decides to sing a song, I am sure I'll love it.
Oh and the title? It's a song and album by the rock band AC/DC. Just seemed appropriate to this long awaited (by Kelly at least) blog post.
Hope you enjoyed your tour of the men I love by profession. If I think of some more.....lucky you!
